MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) - John Reimold scored 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead Bowling Green past Central Michigan 77-73 Wednesday night.
Steven Wright added 15 for Bowling Green (12-4, 6-2 Mid-American), including a 3-pointer that hit the rim and bounced three feet in the air before falling through the net to give the Falcons the lead for good with 2:12 remaining.
Central Michigan (7-10, 2-7) had two turnovers in the final two minutes, while Reimold had a lay-up and hit two free throws to seal the win.
Defensively, BGSU reserve guard Perrick Robinson forced two critical CMU turnovers in the final two minutes as the Falcons outscored the hosts, 8-3 down the stretch.
The Chippewas built an early lead on an 11-0 run less than seven minutes into the game, but then went more than seven minutes without a field goal.
The Falcons were able to tie the game 17-17 with just more than six minutes left in the first half, but Central Michigan pulled ahead again on a 13-8 run that gave them a 30-25 halftime lead.
Steve Harris led the Chippewas with a career-high 16 points and seven rebounds while Eddie Spencer added 15 points and Kevin Nelson scored 14.
Josh Almanson added 16 points for the Falcons and John Floyd had 12.
