BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Falcon Volleyball snatched their second win in a row Friday night with a 3-0 sweep over Kent State. The Bowling Green middle hitters combined to hit 23 kills with zero errors in the match. Redshirt freshman Kendra Halm contributed 13 kills while sophomore Stephanie Swiger donated 10 kills to the Falcon win.
Senior Emily Manser was the story in game one, racking up five kills and an impressive nine digs. The opening act was close throughout before the Golden Flashes shot themselves in the foot with three straight errors to hand Bowling Green the 30-26 win. Junior Chrissy Gothke and Swiger teamed up three times to reject a Kent State attack, compiling three game-one blocks.
Manser continued her strong play in the second game with five more kills on just eight swings, adding four digs as well. The Falcons hit .372 (17-1-43) in the 30-21 win .
Halm's .800 (8-0-10) hitting percentage in the game three clincher was the difference, Kent State had no answer for the Bucyrus, Ohio native. Gothke and Swiger paired up for blocks two more times in the final game.
The Brown and Orange face-off with nationally-ranked #20 Ohio Saturday afternoon in Anderson Arena to end the regular season. Saturday's match is scheduled for 4 PM. The Falcons will also be in action Tuesday night (Nov. 15), hosting a MAC tournament first round match.
