
Gymnastics Tumbles To Victory On Senior Night

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team posted a 193.625-191.800 win over the visiting Western Michigan Broncos Sunday afternoon inside the Eppler Center. Scores of 48.825 and 48.575 on the floor and uneven bars helped the Falcons to victory.
On senior day, seniors Breanne Metzger and Kristin DiPietro finished first and third in the all-around with scores of 38.450 and 37.525.
The third and final senior Kari Elste finished in a tie for first on the bars with a score of 9.800, matching fellow Falcon Jessica Bradley.
On vault WMU captured the top two spots, but freshman Jacquelyn Bernhardt (9.750), junior Jessica Guyer (9.675), sophomore Jessica McArthur (9.625) and Metzger (9.575) finished third through sixth.
Guyer captured her first beam title of the season, bringing home top honors with a career-high 9.825. Metzger and freshman Jessica Ewart finished tied for fourth with a 9.7.
The Brown and Orange were led by DiPietro and Guyer on the floor, both posting top scores of 9.9. Sophomore Erin Coudriet (9.725) and freshman Jessica Ewart (9.675) rounded out the top four.
BGSU will not have long to celebrate this victory, as they will host Southeast Missouri State and Wisconsin Oshkosh on Friday (Feb. 18). The meet is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
