Falcons Defeat Musketeers, 6-1

TOLEDO, Ohio - Bowling Green kept their momentum from Friday's win against Cincinnati to come back and beat the Musketeers of Xavier on Sunday at Shadow Valley Tennis Club. The Falcons, who were beaten by Xavier last year 6-1, came back and took the win at 6-1. This win improves their record to 8-4.
The Falcons took the doubles point with Ashley Jakupcin and Jenna Nussbaum beating Kristen Clary and Jackie Villines 8-5 at the second flight. The Falcons also won the third and fourth flight with Andrea Volle and Andrea Meister defeating Annie Diedalis and Sarah Potts 8-4 at flight number three. Laura Kokinda and Ericka Wolfe took an 8-6 victory over Kate Lohner and Alicia Papa at the fourth flight.
At the first flight Susie Scheoenberger and Heidi Romer were defeated by Lauren Clary and Stephanie Bauer, 8-6.
In singles play Schoenberger came back to beat Lauren Clary 6-2, 6-2 at the first flight. At the second flight Ashley Jakupcin won 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 against Kristen Clary. Also winning in singles were Volle, Nussbaum and Romer.
The Falcons will return to Keefe Courts on March 16 at 3:00 p.m. to take on the Dayton Flyers.
