Falcons Record Another Come-from-Behind Victory, 8-6

Bradenton, Fla. - Bowling Green improved its winning streak to eight games with its second-straight come-from-behind victory, this time scoring three runs in the top of the ninth inning to defeat Eastern Kentucky, 8-6, in Bradenton, Fla.
Down 6-5 entering the top of the ninth inning, sophomore Eric Lawson led off the frame with a double. Jeff Warnock advanced Lawson to third base on a groundout and Nolan Reimold was walked intentially to put runners on the corners. Senior Andy Hudak singled up the middle, plating Lawson and tying the score, 6-6. Sophomore Josh Dietz then singled to right field, scoring Reimold from second base for a 7-6 BGSU lead. Bobby Majer then laid down a sacrifice bunt back to the pitcher, scoring Hudak for the final 8-6 verdict.
Reimold put the Falcons on the board first with a two-run homer in the first inning. After EKU scored in the bottom of the second, BGSU plated two more runs in the third inning before EKU scored four runs in the fifth and sixth innings to stake a 5-4 lead. The teams traded runs before the three-run rally in the ninth for the Falcons.
Warnock, Reimold and Hudak each finished with a pair of hits, while Dietz had three runs batted in.
Senior Burke Badenhop got the start for BGSU, lasting 4.2 innings and allowing three runs on seven hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. Matt Hundley (2-0) pitched the final 1.1 innings to earn his second-straight victory.
Each team finished with 11 hits while BGSU stranded eight and EKU left nine on base.
BGSU (8-1) ends its Spring Break trip in Bradenton, Fla., with a 9:30 a.m. contest vs. Indiana on Saturday morning.
