
Falcons Fall 7-0 to Marshall

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Bowling Green played hard against the Herd but were unable to top them as Marshall walked away with the 7-0 win. This concluded regular season play for the Falcons, placing them at 12-9 overall and 4-5 in MAC play. The Falcons will come back to begin MAC Tournament play starting April 28.
Bowling Green didn't give up without a fight. Susie Schoenberger and Heidi Romer battled to a final 8-5 loss to Joelle Good and Danielle Hock at number one doubles.
At number two doubles, Ashley Kroh and Jeanne Schwartz defeated Ashley Jakupcin and Jenna Nussbaum, 8-2. Concluding the doubles matches, Andrea Volle and Andrea Meister lost an 8-2 decision to Lille Nzudie and Shannon Brown.
In singles, Schoenberger fought with Kroh to end the match 6-3, 6-2 in favor of Kroh. Jakupcin competed at the number two singles position giving the Herd's Nzudie a hard fought match. Taking it into three sets, Nzudie finally took the win at 6-1, 3-6, 6-0.
Andrea Volle competed against Good at number three singles. Good took the win, 6-1, 6-3. Jenna Nussbaum took on Danielle Hock that ended in a 6-1, 6-4 loss for Nussbaum. Andrea Meister and Cameron Benjamin rounded out the singles lineup. Meister was downed by Jeanne Schwartz 6-0, 6-1 while Benjamin lost a tough match to Shannon Brown 6-3, 6-2.
The Falcons will now prepare for Mid-American Conference Tournament play beginning April 28. The tournament will be played in Muncie, Ind. at host Ball State.
