Men's Golf Smashes 36-Hole School Record

The Bowling Green State University men's golf program shot a team score of 562 (-14) on day one of the 5th Annual John Piper Intercollegiate, breaking the previous BGSU best of 589 set back in 1991. The Falcons, who sit in first-place, also broke the 18-hole school record with a team score of 275, surpassing the previous-best score of 283, set in 2001.
Sophomore Jace Walker shot a 139 (71-68) and is tied for third overall. Brad Dearsman (72-69) and Chris Leake (73-68) both shot 141's and are tied for sixth. Heath Ziglar, 146 (71-75, T-18) and Tommy Lopez, 148 (78-70, T-26) round out the top five for the Brown and Orange.
Day two of the John Piper will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
