BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - It was all Eddie Kipchoge for the men's race today at the Falcon Invitational. With a 100-meter lead on his nearest competitor, Kipchoge won his second consecutive race and his fourth out of five this season. He set the pace at a blistering 24:40, more than 37 seconds faster than his nearest competitor and a collegiate personal-best for the freshman.
"He ran a great race," said coach Cami Wells. "It was certainly not idea with the weather conditions but he ran alone pretty much the entire race but it will help him in preparation for the MACs in a couple of weeks.
The next Falcon across the line for the men's cross country team was Brad Wells who crossed in a time of 25:44, a personal-best, good enough for a fifth place finish.
The men ran much more aggressive as a team. They got out very well. They still have to do better the last few miles but Eddie and Brad did an excellent job at leading the team.
Rogers Kipchumba finished next for the team in 47th place in a time of 26:59. Behind Kipchumba was Edgar Ramirez in 72nd place in a time of 27:21. Right behind him was Hillary Maiyo in 76th place with a time of 27:23. The final two men across the line for the Falcons were Curtis Farnsel (27:29 PR), and Kevin Kaighin (27:53).
For the women, it was Jamie Roflow who finished fourth for the Falcons. She raced across the finish line with a time of 18:01, her second fastest time this season for the 5K.

The next Falcons across the finish line were Kara Butler (45; 19:29), Kylie Korsnack (51; 19:33, PR), Andrea Pollack (69; 19:56), Andrea Pereira de Almeida (82; 20:13), Lindsay Conway (107; 20:50), Paige Lane (110; 20:52), Danielle Thornton (114; 20:57), Angela Raizis (121; 21:04), Emily Gallagher (123; 21:07), Lauren Zielke, (144; 21:33) and Katy Senn (154; 21:46)
"The women ran ok as a team," said Wells. "We were disappointed as a team with the finish. Akron ran a way with the win today and now we know what we have to deal with in preparation for the MACs. We still have some work to do with the number three and four runners in moving up. Jamie and Kim have done an outstanding job at leading the team this year."
The Falcons rest next weekend in preparation for the MAC Championships in Buffalo on October 28.
