1. Congratulations on your All-Ohio Championship title. How did you feel during the race? What were your expectations?
Actually the race was so competitive and tough. At first I wasn't expecting to to win as I was expecting to be in the top three but when the race started I gained confidence and found myself in the front of the pack. I am always good at the hills which what helps me a lot.
2. Originally from El Doret, Kenya, what led you to enroll and compete at Bowling Green?
Bowling Green had nice science programs. Furthermore, Bowling Green was the first college to accept my application. The coach herself (Cami Wells) was so nice too.
3. With your freshman year now well underway, how has the adjustment been so far for you at Bowling Green?
The freshman life has gone well so far. I am doing well in everything and I have adjusted with the environment around me. I have met some new friends and life has been so smooth with the assistance from my coach. She treats me very well and I am so comfortable with Bowling Green so far.
4. With the MAC Championships coming up, what are some of your goals and expectations for this season?
The MAC meet is knocking on the door and my expectation is to win the title. I know that there are good guys out there of whom they have not been racing but with the talent and confidence that I have, I am confident that everything will go well.
5. Bowling Green does not currently support a men's indoor or outdoor track & field program. What will your plans be during this time?
With Bowling Green just having just cross country, it will be an opportunity for me to just train for the next year and concerntrate on my class work.
6. What does your general training consist of on a weekly basis?
My traing consists of 2 long runs a week (over an hour), strength training (twice a week) and speed work (twice a week).
7. When you are away from training and competition, how do you like to spend your free time?
I like spending my time a lot in my apartment when I am out of training and class. I usually lay in my bed listening to christian music.
8. Considering how far you have traveled to get your education and training, how often do you get to keep in touch with your family and friends back home?
I usualy communicate with my Mom every Friday along with my brothers and friends every other week.
9. How have your teammates and coaches been in your development as a student-athlete so far?
I have never seen such great people of America. They are so friendly and ready to assist all the time. My teammates have contibuted to the success of me and keep pushing me when we are working out. They give me all the motivation. My coach has been of great assistance to me and she always makes sure that I don't lack or miss anything.
