Houck Picks Up First Win; Falcon Add Four Additional Top Times

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Freshman Frankie Houck earned her first collegiate individual win in the 50 freestyle as she finished in 24.73. She also was a member of the victorious 200 medley relay. Houck combined with fellow rookies Chelsea Lopus, and Meg Richardson and veteran Alisha Yee to finish in 1:47.89. Yee also added yet another top score for the Falcons. Senior Caroline Keating posted an additional two quickest times.
Yee and Keating lead the Falcons with six first place finishes to date. Both has recorded at least one top finish in each of the four Mid-American Conference dual meets. Yee won the 400 backstroke (4:33.21) by edging out fellow Falcon Kimberly Albin who captured the second place finish (4:37.47). Albin and Yee also combined to bring in four second place finishes with a pair each. Keating won both the 1000 (10:30.68) and 500 free (5:10.08) events.
Several more Falcons competed well and generated exciting endings to their events. Richardson earned third in the 100 breast with a final time of 1:08.11 while Lopus picked up a third in the 200 butterfly (2:11.31) and a second in the 100 fly (58.94). Brittany Collins led all divers from the 1-meter board with her fourth place finish. Ashley Belrose was the highest placing Falcon off the 3-meter board with her third place score.
The Falcons will not return to the water competitively until December when they travel south to the state capital to compete in the Ohio State Invitational. The meet will run from December 1-3.
