HUNTINGTON, WV - The final round of competition at the 37th Annual Marshall Invitational saw a two hour rain delay, but not even the cold weather could slow down the BGSU men's golf team. The Falcons final 18 holes saw the Orange and Brown shoot a 289, which was second-best on the day. BGSU finished the tournament in 11th place.
Leading the way for BGSU was Jace Walker, who shot a career-best 68 (-3) the final 18 holes. Combined with his 78-73 Walker shot a 219 for a 12th place finish. Walker was not the only Falcon to go low on Saturday afternoon. Dan McIntyre shot a one-under 70 to help the Falcons. His total of 222 (77-75-70) placed him in a tie for 24th.
Also competing for the Falcons were senior Heath Ziglar (80-70-73--223, T-31st), Tommy Lopez (79-73-78--230, T-67th) and Adam Cordes (77-75-79--231, T-69th). There were a total of 84 golfers in the competition.
Up next for BGSU is a trip to Happy Valley, Penn. for the Rutherford Intercollegiate set for Apr. 22-23.
