BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University baseball squad found themselves on the wrong end of a 15-2 defeat Saturday afternoon against Kent State. Four Falcon errors handed KSU six unearned runs.
Kent State scored first with a four-run third inning. The Flashes then tacked on four more runs in the next two innings for an 8-0 lead.
Junior Kurt Wells stroked a double into right-center field to open up the fourth inning. A pair of groundballs drove Wells across home plate for the Falons first run.
Two innings later, Wells scored again off a Josh Stewart single up the middle. Stewart recorded his team-leading 29th and 30th RBI of the season in the losing effort.
With the deficit trimmed to six runs, the Golden Flashes scarred the Bowling Green bullpen for seven runs in the final three innings, making a 15-2 final score.
The Brown and Orange finish off the series tomorrow afternoon at 1 PM. Sunday's contest is Senior Day at Warren Steller Field.
