Alumnae Bev Buckley to Serve as Volunteer Assistant Coach for the Cross Country Program

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Head coach Cami Wells is pleased to announce that alumnae Bev Buckley will serve as the volunteer assistant coach for the Falcons during the 2006 season.
Bev (Lynch) Buckley comes off a very successful 20-year association with Heidelberg College where she coached five NCAA qualifiers (two in cross country, three in track), 37 All-OAC (16 in cross country, 21 in track), 19 All-Ohio (15 in cross country, 4 in track), and one Division III All-Ohio Champion in cross country.
Buckley ran for head coach Sid Sink from 1980-1984 where she was part of four MAC Championship teams (1980-1983). She also earned All-MAC honors three times, All-Region honors in 1981, team captain in 1981, and All-Ohio honors in 1981, and 1983. She has a personal-best time of 17:47 for the 5,000-meters in cross country which ranks her 22 all time. She was a four-time letter winner in cross country and two times in track and was named the outstanding freshman of the year in 1980.
"I am extremely pleased that Bev has offered to volunteer with our cross country teams this fall," said Wells. "Bev had an outstanding career here in the 1980's and went on to be a very successful cross country and track and field coach at Heidelberg. It is with great pleasure t hat I welcome her back to the Bowling Green cross country program."
