BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -All five Ohio starters scored in double figures as the Bobcats defeated host Bowling Green, 86-63, Wednesday night in Anderson Arena.
"It's about as disappointed as I have ever been in a game," said BGSU Coach Dan Dakich. "I think that Ohio played well, coming off the game they had the other night. They showed leadership and they showed they were veterans. They played great and we were awful. I think from start to finish, we got up 6-0, but still we were not very good all day."
Whitney Davis, who made six of nine three-pointers, had career highs of 26 points and nine rebounds to lead Ohio.Leon Williams had 17 points and 15 rebounds, Bubba Walther added 13, Sonny Troutman 12 and Jerome Tillman 10 for the Bobcats (17-10, 8-5 Mid-American).
BGSU hit the first two shots of the game to take a 6-0 lead, but Ohio took control from that point The Falcons cut the lead to 42-31 on a layup by Nate Miller at the halftime buzzer.
The Bobcats, who blew an 18-point lead at the half at New Mexico State on Saturday, made sure they came out strong and started the half with a 19-3 run.
Senior Martin Samarco scored 19 points and Miller had 16 points and nine rebounds for the Falcons (12-15, 2-11).
BGSU will play its final road game of the season Saturday night at Akron at 7 p.m. The Falcons have home games on March 1 against Kent State and March 4 against Miami.
