Falcons Drop 4-1 Decision, Home Opener Awaits Wednesday Afternoon

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Falcon baseball suffered a 4-1 loss at Xavier Tuesday afternoon. Senior Eric Lawson and Sophomore Brandon McFarland each recorded multi-hit games in the defeat. BGSU falls to 7-5 on the season.
Bowling Green began the second inning with two quick outs, but rebounded with back-to-back-to-back singles by Sophomores Chris Gacom and Brandon McFarland and Freshman Mark Galvin. The trio of singles created a 1-0 lead for the Falcons.
The Musketeers took the lead in the third inning with two scores. Xavier later added two more runs in the eight inning to take a 4-1 advantage that eventually proved to be the final score.
Sophomore Kevin Leady was burdened with the loss after allowing two runs in 4.2 innings pitched. Sophomore Ryan Shay tallied a hit in the contest.
The Brown and Orange open up Warren Steller Field for the first time this season, Wednesday afternoon for a 2 PM showdown against the Findlay Oilers. Bowling Green has won their last seven home openers.
