Five Falcons Named to the All-MAC Squads

MIDLAND, Mich. - Jeanine Baca, Hayley Wiemer and Allison Vallas joined thirteen fellow MAC softball participants on the All-MAC first team while Dawnjene DeLong and Emily Gouge combined with an additional twelve to comprise the second team as awarded by the Mid-American Conference.
Each of the three first team members were named to the All-MAC squad in their first year of eligibility with Baca (2004) and Vallas (2006) earning second team honors while Wiemer was a first team selection last season.
For both DeLong and Gouge it is their first All-MAC mention.
The third seed Falcons will face second seed Eastern Michigan in the second round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament at 6:30 p.m. at Currie Field tonight. BGSU entered the winners bracket as a result of a 5-2 win over the six seed Broncos of Western Michigan in the only full game to be played yesterday after in climate weather forced a majority of the first round games to be moved to this morning. Eastern Michigan advanced to face BGSU after beating seven seed Ohio University 8-3 in a contest that was postponed to this morning after playing three innings last night.
