BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green baseball season came to end Saturday afternoon with a 15-0 loss to the Ohio Bobcats. Twenty-five different Falcon players saw action in the season finale.
Ohio struck first with three-runs in the third inning. Bowling Green's starting pitcher settled down after that and the score remained 3-0 until the seventh inning. In that inning, the Bobcats took advantage of two dropped fly balls to score four unearned runs and seven total runs in the frame. OU notched three more runs in the eighth before finishing off the scoring with a pair of unearned runs in the ninth.
Bowling Green had a few scoring opportunities, stranding two runners on base in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings. Two Falcon runners were also thrown at home in the contest.
Despite the loss in game three, the Falcons took the weekend series after getting the "W" on Thursday and Friday. The Brown and Orange snatched a 14-4 win on Thursday before escaping with an 8-6 victory in game two. Senior Eric Lawson ended his Falcon career with another multi-hit performance, a 2-for-4 day from the plate.
