CLEVELAND, Ohio - Bowling Green State University sophomore forward Tara Breske has earned her first collegiate post season nod with her selection to the 2008 Mid-American Conference All-Tournament team. Breske is joined by Toledo's Ta'Yani Clark as well as Ohio's Lauren Hmiel and Jennifer Poff as announced by the conference offices on Saturday, March 15. Miami, the 2008 tournament champions, saw both Laura Markwood and Amanda Jackson earn placement on the team as well; Jackson was also named Tournament MVP.
Breske led BGSU in scoring and rebounding averaging a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. She also went on to record a team high four blocks, with three coming in the Mar. 11 quarterfinal win versus Kent State. For the tournament, Breske was 13-of-29 from the floor and 4-of-4 from the free throw line. She also went on to tally three assists and four steals as the Orange and Brown went 1-1 in post season MAC play.
After suffering a two-point loss, 68-66, to the eventual runners-up Ohio University, the Falcons (25-7) bowed out of the tournament early for the first time in four seasons, yet are still guaranteed post season play with an automatic bid to the Women's National Invitational Tournament. BGSU's bid was given as a result of winning their fourth consecutive regular season conference crown.
Breske and her teammates are scheduled to learn their post season fate on Monday, March 17 as the WNIT bracket is released.
