DAY ONE RESULTS
The Bowling Green State University women's golf team is concluding the fall portion of their 2009-10 season this weekend at the All-Ohio Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.
With only four schools participating, there is no team competition at the Scarlet Course of the Ohio State University Golf Club. Instead, this weekend's competition is a two-round, 36-hole individual competition between 18 golfers from Bowling Green, Dayton, Ohio State, and Ohio University.
After an adjustment to the course layout this weekend, round one was completed this afternoon at the par-71, 6,039-yard course. The Falcons have four competitors in the field of 18, including all three of Bowling Green's freshman class.
Seeing her first action of the season, freshman Amy Ruthenberg led all Falcons with an 86. She is part of a five-way tie for 8th place. Senior Hannah Lambert is one shot behind Ruthenberg after carding an 87. Lambert is in a tie for 13th place. Freshman Susannah Grunden completed her fall campaign with an 89. Fellow freshman Jennifer Blanchard, also in her first tournament of the season, finished the day with a score of 100.
Ohio State features the top three and four of the top five golfers in the field, including Nara Shin and Vicky Villanueva, who are tied for first. Dayton's Katie Gallagher is fourth.
The second and final round of the tournament will be completed tomorrow with an 11:00 am start.
