The Bowling Green State University men's golf team will conclude the Fall leg of it's 2009-10 schedule this weekend by traveling to the warm climate of South Florida for the 2009 Renaissance Invitational in Fort Myers.
The tournament will be held at The Club at Renaissance. The par-72 course is 7,046 yards long. Twelve teams will be playing 54 holes over two days. The first two 18-hole rounds will be played on Sunday, November 1st. The final round occurs on Monday, November 2nd.
Sunday's play will begin with a shotgun start at 7:30am ET, with Bowling Green's contingent of players beginning on holes five through eight. The final round of play will begin with another shotgun start at 8:00am ET. The pairings for Monday's play will be based on the first day's results.
A total of 12 teams will participate in the tournament. Joining Bowling Green from the MAC will be Ball State and Miami. The Big Ten will be represented by Indiana and Penn State. Other participating schools are Campbell, Liberty, Marshall, Troy, Xavier, Eastern Kentucky and Western Kentucky.
Playing conditions for the teams should be very good. According to weather.com, the teams will play under partly cloudy skies on both days, with afternoon highs ranging from the middle- to upper-80s.
