May 03, 2026 | Men's Golf, Falcon Club
Angelo Luciani led the Falcons with a 73 (+2) in round one, but the story of his first round was Luciani's ninth hole, where he notched his first career hole-in-one. Luciani put up another solid round of golf for the Falcons in round two where he again shot a 73 (+2), placing himself in the top five in the clubhouse. After Round Three, Luciani shot his best round of the tournament, paging a 71 (+1) which was god enough for Luciani to finish the tournament tied for third overall in the clubhouse. Angelo's third place finish is best individual finish for a Falcon in the last 20 years.
The Falcons finished the tournament right in the middle with a fifth overall finish, shooting a 909 (+56) as a team.

FROM THE CLUBHOUSE
"I'm incredibly proud of what we accomplished this week. It's been a long season of growth, and our team showed tremendous grit and perseverance to earn a fifth-place finish. The middle of the leader board was a battle every step of the way. This is the MAC Championship, regardless of location or conditions, and the way our guys closed out each round speaks to their toughness. The course was demanding all week strong winds early on, followed by fast greens and steady rain in the final round. Those are the moments that reveal a team's character, and our group proved just how resilient and capable we are. With five first-time competitors at the MAC Championship, finishing fifth is a significant accomplishment." -BGSU Men's Golf Head Coach John Powers
