Men's Golf To Compete At Xavier Invitational

The Bowling Green State University men's golf team will attempt to build upon its red-hot start to the 2009-10 season on Monday and Tuesday, as the Falcons travel to the Cincinnati area to participate in the 2009 Xavier Invitational.
Now, after a week off, the Falcons resume their season by teeing off against a field of 12 opponents. This week's competition includes fellow MAC foes Akron, Ball State and Ohio. It also includes tournament host Xavier and two other Ohio schools, Dayton and Cleveland State. Rounding out this week's competition are Austin Peay, DePaul, Eastern Kentucky, Marquette, Marshall, and Princeton.
The Xavier Invitational is a 54-hole tournament to be played over two days. On Monday, October 5th, the teams will play 36 holes over two rounds. The day will begin at 8:30am with a shotgun start. Play on Tuesday, October 6th will consist of one 18-hole round, which will begin with an 8:00am shotgun start. The tournament will be held at the par-72, 6,921-yard Oasis Golf Club in Loveland, Ohio.
Individually, Matt Schneider led the way for the Falcons in the 2008 Xavier Invitational with a three-under-par 213. Parker Hewit also finished in the top 25 with an even-par 216. John Powers (221), Drew Preston (227) and Bryan Mitchell (235) also competed for the Orange and Brown.
