The Bowling Green State University men's golf team carded a 36-hole score of 643 (327-316) on day one of the 2009 Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate to sit in 14th with 18 holes remaining.
South Carolina-Aiken (591), Francis Marion (593), Richmond (604), USC Upstate (608) and Elon (616) sit one through five on day one.
The Falcons, who were without one of their top golfers, John Powers, were led by freshman Parker Hewit. Hewit carded a 154 (78-76) to sit in a tie for 25th among the 81-person field.
Other Falcons competing included Matt Schneider (81-80--161, T-49th), Drew Preston (84-78--162, T-53rd), Bryan Mitchell (84-83--167, 7-th) and Chad Walker (86-82--168, T-71st).
The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday at the par 72, 6,828-yard Wexford Plantation course.
