
Dunning and Hartman Lead the Way for the Falcons

HILLSDALE, Mich. - Bowling Green State University finishes their first day of a two day meet at Hillsdale College. The Falcons would record eight top-10 event finishers.
Senior TaKarra Dunning led the way for the Falcons with a second place finish in the shot put. Her throw of 14.70 meters gave her another automatic bid the NCAA meet in the shot put. Dunning would also place ninth in the hammer throwing 47.08 meters.
Fellow senior Whitney Hartman would also have an impressive first day finishing second in the hammer throw reaching a distance of 55.06 meters. Hartman would be another field athlete to gain another automatic bid for the NCAA meet. She would also become a provisional qualifier in the shot put with a toss of 13.88 meters placing sixth.
The Falcons would also have two top ten finishers in the 3,000 meter steeplechase event. Sophomore Autumn Dettmann would place fourth with a time of 11:33.56 and junior Lindsay Conway would place ninth finishing at 12:24.01.
In the 4x800 meter relay race BGSU's A and B teams would both place at the top of the event. The A squad consisting of sophomore Heather Conger, freshman Saisha Gaillard, junior Carly Wells and senior Jamie Roflow would finish with a time of 9:23.67 placing them fourth. The ninth place B squad consisting of sophomore Barabara Powers, junior Danielle Thornton, sophomore Courtney Krummert and junior Andrea Pereira de Almeida finshed with a time of 9:35.74.
The Falcons will be wrapping up the meet on Saturday April 25th.
