The Bowling Green State University women's golf team carded a 328 in round one of the Rio Verde Intercollegiate, hosted by Western Michigan in Rio Verde, Ariz., to sit in 18th with 36 holes remaining to play. Friday afternoon's action was the Falcons' first tournament this Spring.
The Orange and Brown were led by freshman Susy Grunden, who carded a 74 in round one, one shy of her career-low, and one shot shy of the BGSU school record for a freshman (which she owns). She currently sits in a tie for ninth among the 95-player field.
Also competing were Lauren Glew (83, T-79th), Hannah Lambert (85, T-85th), Marisa Glew (86, T-88th) and Paula DiFrancesco (89, T-95th).
The Falcons will return to action on Saturday afternoon.
