Parking Information for BGSU's Weekend Soccer Matches
August 26, 2010 | General, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer
There will be no shortage of soccer action on the Bowling Green State University campus this weekend. Head coach Andy Richards and the Falcon women's soccer team will host West Virginia on Friday (Aug. 27) at 5:00 p.m., and Xavier on Sunday (Aug. 29) at 1:00 p.m. Coach Eric Nichols and the BGSU men's team will face Indianapolis on Saturday (Aug. 28) at 1:00 p.m. in the team's final scrimmage before the regular season begins. All three matches will be held at Cochrane Field.
In addition to the three BGSU matches, the BG Youth Soccer Challenge will return to campus on Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 28-29). This semi-annual event is expected to draw over 150 youth soccer teams from all over Ohio and surrounding states. They will be hosting games on much of the useable green space around Cochrane Field, Perry Stadium and the intramural fields.
Fans planning to attend one or more of this weekend's Falcon soccer matches should be advised of some parking procedures.
As in the past, the BG Youth Soccer Challenge organizers will monitor parking and traffic control in the area on Saturday and Sunday. Arrangements have been made to accommodate parking for both Saturday's BGSU-Indianapolis men's scrimmage as well as Sunday's BGSU-Xavier women's match. Fans attending one or both of those matches will be able to park in either Lot L (the paved lot north of Perry Stadium) or the BGSU Ice Arena lot.
Falcon fans are also asked to take Mercer Road to Stadium Drive to access Lot L or the Ice Arena parking lot on Saturday and Sunday.
Admission for both the men's and women's soccer matches is free. In fact, as part of the BGSU Centennial celebration, admission to all home Falcon soccer matches will be free in 2010.
