With the win, WSU improves to 9-6-2 on the season, while BGSU drops to 7-7-3 on the year.
Seth Petrey and Brian Cothern scored for the Raiders, while freshman Danny Baraldi recorded the Falcons' goal.
Petrey gave the hosts a 1-0 lead on a free kick at the 17:12 mark of the opening half.
The score remained one-nil in favor of the hosts until under 13 minutes remained in regulation, when Baraldi scored his fourth goal of the year, with junior Rodcliff Hall assisting.
But, Cothern scored with only 8:08 left in the second period, on an assist for Bryce Rockwell-Ashton.
The Falcons pushed for an equalizer, but WSU goalkeeper Corey Whisenhunt came up with a save on sophomore Ryan Snashall's effort with under a minute remaining.
Whisenhunt made two saves on the evening. For the Falcons, sophomore Michael Wiest had four stops in his complete-match effort.
The win gives the Raiders the I-75 Cup for the first time. The teams are now 1-1-0 since coaches Eric Nichols and Bryan Davis came up with the traveling trophy that goes to the winner of the annual match between the teams.
Baraldi's goal was his fourth of the season, tying him for the team lead with Hall and senior Colin Armstrong. Baraldi now has a team-leading 16 points on the year.
For Hall, the assist in Tuesday night's game was his second of the year. He now has 10 points, ranking second on the Falcons behind Baraldi.
BGSU closes the regular season with a Saturday (Nov. 5) match at Western Michigan University. The Falcons need a win over the Broncos, plus several friendly results around the Mid-American Conference this week, to qualify for the league tournament.
