Calhoun, Rogers Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's basketball player A'uston Calhoun and women's basketball player Alexis Rogers.
Male Athlete of the Week
A'uston Calhoun, a junior from Southfield, Mich., averaged 22.5 points, set a school record for single-game field goal shooting, and shot 69 percent from the floor as the men's basketball team went 1-1 on the week. Calhoun broke Bowling Green's program record by going 9-for-9 from the floor in a win over Malone with all of those attempts coming in the first half. He followed that up with 25 points, 17 in the second half, at Valparaiso, adding seven rebounds and three steals.
Female Athlete of the Week
Alexis Rogers, a sophomore from West Chester, Ohio, led the women's basketball team in scoring and rebounding as BGSU went a perfect 3-0 on the week. She averaged 14.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, breaking her career highs with 23 points and 11 rebounds at Youngstown State, posting the first double-double of her collegiate career. She then had 19 points in BGSU's blowout win over Austin Peay and added nine rebounds in a victory over Jacksonville.
