Baraldi, a native of Canton, Ohio (Massillon Jackson H.S.), led the Falcons in scoring, with 18 points in his initial season in Northwest Ohio. One of three players to start all 18 matches for head coach Eric Nichols, Baraldi paced BGSU in goals (five), assists (eight) and shots on goal (21). He tied for 17th in the nation in assists per game (0.44), leading all freshmen in NCAA Division I in that category.
Baraldi tied for 21st in the country in total assists, again leading all frosh, and he also was ranked in the nation's top 100 in points per game (1.00, T-89th). Baraldi was directly involved in the scoring of 13 of BGSU's 22 goals on the season, and his assist total was the highest by a BGSU player since 2003.
He tied for the team lead with a pair of game-winning goals, including one in his first collegiate match, as he scored midway through the second half against then ninth-ranked Michigan in BG's 2-0 win. For his efforts against the Wolverines, was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week.
Baraldi's other winner came at Pittsburgh, as he blasted home a shot from distance in the 83rd minute of that 1-0 victory. He was named to the all-tournament team that weekend, at the Pitt/Nike Invitational, and also earned all-tourney-team honors at the Hyatt Place Brentwood Invitational in Nashville.
Baraldi also had goals vs. Florida Atlantic and in back-to-back matches to end the season, at Wright State and Western Michigan. He had a pair of two-assist games, against IPFW and Detroit.
The freshman phenom had a six-game point-scoring streak from Sept. 11-Oct. 2, with two goals and five assists in that stretch. That streak was the longest by a BGSU player in over a decade.
Baraldi finished fourth on the team in minutes played, as he was on the pitch for 1,599 of the team's 1,696 minutes. He played every minute over the final eight matches of the year.
