Baraldi, Tonyan Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. The first winners for the 2011-12 school year are men's soccer player Danny Baraldi and volleyball player Danielle Tonyan.
Male Athlete of the Week
Danny Baraldi, a freshman from Canton, Ohio, scored his first collegiate goal in his first collegiate match, leading the Falcons to a 2-0 win over No. 9 Michigan Friday night at Cochrane Field. The goal, which came on his first shot, gave Bowling Green a 1-0 lead in the 64th minute. For his efforts, Baraldi was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week.
Female Athlete of the Week
Danielle Tonyan, a sophomore from McHenry, Ill., was named Most Valuable Player at the Kristen Dickmann Invitational, hosted by Navy, as she led the Falcons to a 2-0 record and the tournament championship. Tonyan had 16 kills and a .536 attack percentage in a three-set win over Air Force. She followed that up with a team-high 11 kills in a three-set win over Navy.
