BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- On Thursday morning (Sept. 29), the Mid-American Conference announced the latest recipients of the MAC Golfer of the Week award. For the second time in three weeks, Bowling Green State University athlete Bailey Arnold was named MAC Women's Golfer of the Week.
Arnold shot 158 (77-81) at the Cleveland State Invitational on Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 26-27) to earn a tie for 11th place. She led all Falcon golfers in the event. She has been BGSU's top scorer in each of the team's three tournaments this season.
Arnold's 11th place finish is her fifth top-20 out of her last six tournaments, dating back to last spring. She has carded an average of 75.57 for the season through seven rounds and leads the team in that category. Her career average has improved to 78.78, which ranks second in BGSU history.
Two weeks ago, Arnold won a playoff to capture medalist honors at the season-opening Redbird Invitational. That effort was rewarded later in the week when the MAC named her Co-Golfer of the Week.
Arnold's next event will be in Dayton, Nev. at the Wolf Pack Classic, hosted by the University of Nevada next Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 3-4),
