BGSU Athletics Receives Grant From the BG Community Foundation

The Bowling Green State University Athletics department has announced a $4,600 grant from the BG Community Foundation to provide 200 tickets and BGSU T-shirts to the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament for children involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Ohio - Wood County.
“We are so thankful that the Bowling Green Community Foundation has stepped forward to support our hosting of the NCAA Women's Basketball event,” said Lesley Irvine, Associate Athletics Director of Sports Administration/SWA. “The tournament marks an important occasion for our community. We are thankful that the Foundation has combined the opportunity to make local youth involvement more accessible as well as support the event itself. We are extremely grateful.”
All 200 kids will be recognized on court during halftime of a game on Mar. 18, 2012, during the first round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.
Bowling Green is one of 16 host cities for the first and second rounds of the Women's Basketball NCAA Tournament. All three games will take place inside the Stroh Center on Mar. 18 and 20.
