The Bowling Green State University men's golf team sits in 12th after 18 holes of action at the Firestone Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Akron, with a score of 300. The tournament was delayed a significant part of the day due to weather, forcing 18 holes to be dropped from Monday's action.
Fellow Mid-American Conference foe, Ball State, leads the 17-team field with a team score of 282. South Carolina-Aiken was second (285) followed by Davidson (289) to round out the top three. Other MAC schools included Eastern Michigan (290, T-4th), Akron (290, T-4th), Miami (302, 15th) and Ohio (307, 17th).
It was fairly simple to compute BGSU's team score as four of the Falcons shot 75. Wes Gates, Joe Cooper, Holden Pahr and Charlie Olson all carded the same 75 to tie for 43rd. Chris Melvin was one shot behind, finishing with a 76. He currently sits in a tie for 58th.
