Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University Athletics Department has announced that Chelsea Lowe has been named Assistant Athletic Trainer at BGSU. Lowe will work directly with the BGSU football, gymnastics, track and field, and cross country programs.
“We are excited to have Chelsea on board,” Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine Nick Richey said. “She brings great energy and a true passion for sports medicine to the office every day of the week.”
Lowe comes to BGSU after working as an intern in athletic training at the University of Denver. She was responsible for coverage of the volleyball and men's and women's ski teams there, providing additional help in hockey and gymnastics. Prior to that, she was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Kansas, serving from July of 2009 through June of 2011. She worked primarily with the department's swimming and diving team.
"I am thrilled with the opportunity to be a part of the sports medicine staff at BGSU,” Lowe said. “The athletics department support for sports medicine here is awesome and I look forward to working with Nick (Richey) to provide a very high-level, comprehensive care program for our student-athletes. My husband, Ben, and I are excited about moving into the community and enjoying daily life in BG."
Lowe received her bachelor's degree in sport and exercise science from the University of Northern Colorado in May of 2009 and earned her master's degree in sport management from Kansas in May of 2011.
