Preseason Practices Get Underway for Men's Soccer Falcons

The Bowling Green State University men's soccer program has officially embarked upon the 2012 preseason. After several organizational meetings on Wednesday evening (Aug. 8), the team members had the first two practices of the preseason on Thursday (Aug. 9).

Head coach Eric Nichols begins his fourth season at the helm of the Falcons, and welcomes back a total of 13 letterwinners, including six starters, from last year's team. Nichols and his staff put the 25 student-athletes on the roster through their paces on Thursday, with a morning training and fitness session at Perry Fieldhouse, followed by a late-afternoon practice on the team's practice pitch just east of Cochrane Field.
The Falcons' first test of the 2012 season will be a scrimmage at Oakland on Friday, Aug. 17. The Brown and Orange will open the regular season with three consecutive matches at Cochrane, beginning with a contest vs. Saint Bonaventure on the evening of August 25. All 10 of the Falcons' home matches will be held under the lights.
