Former Student-Athletes Earn Academic Excellence Award

Five recently graduated Bowling Green State University student-athletes have been named recipients of the 1A Faculty Athletics Representatives (FAR) Academic Excellence Award. The honor is reserved for student-athletes who graduate with a GPA of 3.8 or higher from their academic institution.
The student-athletes representing Bowling Green on the list are as follows:
- Courtney Beinlich, Health Science, Women's Soccer
- Maribeth Giese, Political Science, Women's Basketball
- Brittany Hopkins, Early Childhood Education, Women's Soccer
- Leah Johnson, Accounting, Women's Soccer
- Melissa West, Health Science, Softball
Earlier this month, the BGSU women were named winners of the 2011-12 Mid-American Conference FAR Academic Achievement Award, an honor the Falcons have earned in three of the last four years.
