Jones Invited to NFL Combine

Chris Jones, a member of the Bowling Green State University football team, received an invitation this afternoon (Jan. 25) to participate in the NFL combine, set to begin on Feb. 23 in Indianapolis, Ind.
The NFL combine draws executives, coaches, player personnel staff and medical personnel from all 32 NFL teams to evaluate the nation's top college football players eligible for the upcoming NFL Draft. The entire four-day event can be followed live at nfl.com and on the NFL Network.
Jones had one of the finest seasons by a defensive player in school history, earning MAC Defensive Player of the Year after finishing the season with 42 tackles, 12.5 sacks and 19.0 tackles for loss. Jones would go on to be named a first-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America, first-team All-MAC and was named the MAC East Defensive Player of the Week on three different occasions in 2012.
Jones played in 50 games during his Falcon career, starting 44 consecutive contests, helping the Falcons to advance to bowl games in 2009 and 2012. The Brownsburg, Ind., native recorded 157 tackles, 28.0 sacks, 46.0 tackles for loss, six forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries during his time with the Orange and Brown.
