Cooper, Scheps Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week
February 04, 2013 | General, Ice Hockey, Women's Swimming & Diving
Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Mark Cooper and swimmer Joëlle Scheps.

Male Athlete of the Week
Mark Cooper, a freshman from Toronto, Ontario, helped the Falcons score 11 goals in a two-game set with Lake Superior State, aiding in a Falcon sweep. Cooper had two goals and two assists Saturday night, setting a team season-high with four points in one game. His two-goal night marked just the second time this season that a Falcon has scored multiple goals in a game.
Female Athlete of the Week
Joëlle Scheps, a junior from Waddinxveen, Netherlands, won four races as the Falcons earned back-to-back wins over Akron and Youngstown State this weekend. Against the Zips, Scheps won the 200 freestyle, the 400 individual medley and swam in the winning 400 medley relay. Her time of 4:26.47 in the 400 IM is the third-fastest in school history. On Saturday, Scheps added a win in the 400 medley relay.
