Falcons Second After Day One of Mount St. Mary’s Spring Invite

Team Results
The Bowling Green State University men's golf team had its second-best day of the year, finishing the first 36 holes of the Mount St. Mary's Spring Invitational with a team score of 581 (290-291) to sit in second of 12 teams.
Binghamton carded a 1-under, 575, to lead the field. BGSU is second, followed by Iona (587), Mount St. Mary's (601) and Fairfield (605) to round out the top five.
Helping the Orange and Brown to its great afternoon was Wes Gates. Gates, who opened the year with back-to-back tournament wins, is once again back where he belongs, atop the field. The senior finished the first 36 holes with a score of 138 (67-71) and leads the 63-player field by three shots.
Joe Cooper had a career-best day on Monday afternoon, carding back-to-back 73's. Cooper is currently tied for 11th.
Ryan Triller, a former member of the Mount St. Mary's golf team, returned home, firing a 148 (75-73). Triller is tied for 16th.
Also competing for the Falcons were Josh Bialecki (76-74--150, T-19th) and Charlie Olson (75-77--152, T-24th).
Holden Pahr and Torey Brummett competed as individuals, which excluded them from the BGSU team score. Pahr is tied for 13th with a 147 (72-75), while Brummett is tied for 40th at 156 (72-74).
The third and final round will begin Tuesday morning.
