Shelby Wilson Named MAC Golfer of the Week

Wilson helped the Falcons earn their first victory of the 2013-14 season at the Cleveland State Invitational.

Cleveland, Ohio – On Thursday afternoon (Sept. 26), the Mid-American Conference named Bowling Green State University junior Shelby Wilson Golfer of the Week after earning medalist honors at the 2013 Cleveland State Invitational this past Tuesday (Sept. 24). This is the second time Wilson has won the award.
Wilson earned her first tournament championship as a Falcon by shooting a 3-over 149 (74-75) at Pine Hills Golf Club in Hinkley, Ohio. The 36-hole tournament featured seven teams and 45 total players in the field. In the 2013-14 fall season, Wilson has a 76.60 average in five rounds.
Wilson's performance on the course helped the Falcons finish first overall; it is their first victory since winning the Butler Fall Invitational last October. The team returns to action on Monday, Oct. 7-8 in Fishers, Ind. to play in the Preview. It was a tournament that Wilson improved by eight strokes in her second round, finishing in the top 25.
