January 27, 2014 | General, Ice Hockey, Women's Basketball
Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Mark Cooper and women's basketball player Alexis Rogers.

Male Athlete of the Week
Mark Cooper, a sophomore from Toronto, Ontario, tallied two goals, two assists, 10 shots on goal and earned a plus-3 on-ice rating as BGSU hockey earned a weekend series split at the BGSU Ice Arena against league-rival Lake Superior State. He followed his two assist performance on Friday night by scoring two goals in Saturday night's 6-2 triumph over the Lakers, and was named the second star of the tilt.

Alexis Rogers, a senior from West Chester, Ohio, averaged 15.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in wins over Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois. Rogers became the 10th fastest in BGSU history to score 1,000 career points as she had 24 and seven rebounds in a 71-57 win over EMU.
