Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University Athletics Department will be celebrating the 50th anniversaries of the BGSU Athletics Hall of the Fame and the Falcon Club, while recognizing the University's Heritage Sports Oct. 17-18.
BGSU's Heritage Sports are those sports in which a varsity athletics team is no longer fielded and those sports include men's lacrosse, men's swimming and diving, men's tennis, men's track and field, men's and women's fencing, synchronized swimming, women's lacrosse, women's field hockey, and wrestling.
"These sports…are as much a part of Bowling Green's rich athletic tradition as anything else we have in the archives," Mickey Cochrane, cofounder and curator of the Cochrane Cunningham Archive and Museum, said.
