Valleau, Cadel Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Nolan Valleau and women's soccer player Lauren Cadel.
Male Athlete of the Week Lauren Cadel, a redshirt sophomore from Newmarket, Ontario, totaled 24 saves in goal for the Falcons over BGSU's two home MAC matches this weekend against Central Michigan and Toledo, an average of 12 stops per match. Versus CMU, she registered what was then a season-high 11 stops for the Falcons in an overtime loss, but followed up that performance with a new season-high and career-high 13 saves against Toledo on Sunday afternoon.

Male Athlete of the WeekNolan Valleau, a redshirt freshman from Novi, Mich., totaled a team-best four points over the weekend for BGSU hockey, helping the Falcons earn a home-and-home series split with No. 10 Miami. Valleau began the week with two assists in his collegiate hockey debut, while adding a plus-1 on-ice rating. The rookie then followed his spectacular debut with two more helpers on Sunday evening, giving him four assists in two games. In fact, Valleau has tallied an assist in four of the Falcons' five goals on the year. In all, the rookie defenseman totaled four assists, a team-best plus-2 rating and three blocked shots.
