All Five Falcons Post Sub 80 Rounds at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate

Raleigh, N.C. – For the third straight round and the second straight day the Bowling Green State University men's golf team had all five golfers shoot under 80 on the final round of play on Tuesday at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate held at the par 71, 7,307-yards Lonnie Poole Golf Course at N.C. State University in Raleigh, N.C.
The Falcons carded a final round of 298, +14, on Tuesday to shoot rounds of 309, 294 and 298, and finish with a combined tournament score of 901, +49. BGSU finished in 16th-place overall out of the strong 18-team field for the 54-hole event.
The Falcons were one of only two teams that had all five players shoot in the 70s for the entire three rounds of play.
"The guys played hard, all five of them, all week on a really hard course against very good competition," commented head coach Kevin Farrell. "Now we will have a nice break until we go to Florida on Oct. 27-28 and play a much easier course."
Sophomore Brett Rinker posted a third round 75, +4, on Tuesday, which included 13 pars and a birdie on hole number four. Added to his first two rounds of 77, +6, and 72, +1, Rinker finished in a tie for 41st-place overall with a 54-hole score of 224, +11.
Both Jose Narro and Ryan Triller finished the two-day event in a tie for 54th-place overall with combined three-round scores of 226, +13. Narro turned in rounds of 78, 72 and 76 on his way to his 226, +13, while Triller carded a BGSU low round 73, +2, on Tuesday to post rounds of 78, 75 and 73 for the tournament.
Just three shots behind both Narro and Triller were both Cameron Michalak and Joe Cooper with identical tournament scores of 229, +16. Michalak tallied rounds of 77, 75 and 77 over his two days of play, while Cooper shot his tournament low round of 74, +3, on Tuesday to go along with his two rounds of 77 and 78 on Monday. The duo finished in a tie for 61st-place overall.
N.C. State earned the team win with a team score of 846, -6 under par.
In second-place was East Tennessee State with a combined score of 855, +3, while East Carolina turned in a third-place finish with a 54-hole score of 863, +11.
The Falcons will have the next two weeks off before returning to competition at the Quail Valley Intercollegiate in Vero Beach, Florida on Oct. 27-28.
