Denny, Donovan Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's basketball player Zack Denny and women's basketball player Erica Donovan.

Male Athlete of the Week
Zack Denny, a sophomore from Germantown, Ohio, scored a career-high 18 points and hauled in a career-best seven rebounds in a 70-55 win over Wright State. The sharpshooter was 4-of-4 from behind the three-point line and 6-of-9 from the field overall. He scored the final four points of the first half to bring BGSU to within one at the break and scored a three-pointer early in the second half that gave BGSU the lead for good at 39-36.
Female Athlete of the Week
Erica Donovan, a redshirt junior from San Antonio, Texas, averaged 19.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game as the Falcons went 2-0 last week. BGSU beat Iona 80-59 as Donovan tied her career-high with 24 points and added seven rebounds. She just missed a double-double Saturday at Milwaukee as she posted 14 points and nine rebounds. Ten of her points came in the second half as BGSU erased a nine-point deficit late for the win.
