Denny Named MAC East Division Player of the Week

Mid-American Conference (MAC) Player of the Week Release
Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green State University sophomore guard Zack Denny was named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Men's Basketball East Division Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday, Dec. 15.
Denny led the Falcons in a number of categories last week, as BGSU went 1-1 overall with a road loss at Dayton and a home win versus Cleveland State. Denny, who logged a team-high 37.0 minutes per game last week for BGSU, averaged a team-high 15.0 points per game on 61.1 percent shooting from the floor (11-of-18), including knocking down 4-of-7 (57.1 percent) from behind the three-point line. The sophomore guard also averaged 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game last week.
In the road loss at Dayton, Denny scored a game-high 16 points on 7-of-12 (58.3 percent) shooting and added six rebounds and three steals in 38 minutes of play. On Saturday in the home win over CSU, Denny poured in 14 points and hauled in a career-high nine rebounds in 36 minutes. He was 4-of-6 (66.7 percent) from the field overall, a perfect 2-of-2 from behind the three-point line and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.
The Germantown, Ohio native is 14-of-14 from the free throw line on the season.
The weekly conference award is the first for Denny, while he is the second Falcon to receive the MAC weekly honor this season joining fellow teammate Richaun Holmes who was tabbed the MAC East Division Player of the Week on Dec. 1.
