Lewis, Siefker Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week
December 22, 2014 | Football, General, Women's Basketball
Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are football player Roger Lewis and women's basketball player Abby Siefker.

Male Athlete of the Week
Roger Lewis, a freshman from Pickerington, Ohio, capped off arguably the best season by a freshman wide receiver in school history with four catches for 137 yards and two touchdowns in BGSU Football's 33-28 Camellia Bowl win over South Alabama. Lewis became the first freshman in school history to surpass 1,000 receiving yards and just the seventh player ever at BGSU to do that. His second touchdown came on a 78-yard reception from James Knapke with 64 seconds remaining to give the Falcons the win.
Female Athlete of the Week
Abby Siefker, a sophomore from Ottoville, Ohio, averaged 9.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 blocks shots as BGSU women's basketball went 2-0 on the road. She also shot 56.3 percent from the field to guide the Falcons. Siefker had eight points and career-bests 12 rebounds and five assists in a 58-54 win at Illinois State. She followed that up with 11 points, six rebounds and two blocks in the team's 61-47 victory at Bradley.
