Cooper and Bialecki Post Wins in Loss to Ohio on Final Day of MAC Match Play

Dade City, Fla. – Both Joe Cooper and Joshua Bialecki posted wins for the Falcons on day two of the Mid-American Match Play Championships, however, it wouldn't be enough as Bowling Green State University fell to Ohio 4-2-0 on the final day of play at the Lake Jovita Golf South Course in Dade City, Fla.
With the loss, the Falcons went 0-3-0 over the two-day event.
On Tuesday, Bowling Green's Cooper needed only 16 holes to dismantle Brad Burgess of Ohio, earning a 5 up victory to finish the tournament at 1-1-1 overall individually.
Bialecki went on to earn his second win of the event, as he defeated Brad Lucas 1 up over 17 holes.
The other four contests were tight throughout, as Chris Melvin was defeated by Peyton White 1 up, while both Brett Rinker and Ryan Triller both loss their respective matches 2 up. Holden Pahr suffered a 3 up loss to Ty Herriott, which gave the Bobcats the 4-2-0 match play victory.
Host and last year's runner-up to Bowling Green, Ball State, went on to win the Earl Yestingsmeier Championship bracket by defeating Eastern Michigan on Tuesday in the Championship round.
Bowling Green will look to rebound in its next event, as the Falcons will return to the links for competition on March 3-4 at the Samford Intercollegiate at the Hoover Country Club in Birmingham, Ala.
