Grant was recognized for his outstanding efforts on the field with the Seacoast United Phantoms of the PDL this summer. He finished second in the league in both the Golden Boot and Scoring Champion categories with 14 goals and 29 points in just 10 matches.
Grant helped the Phantoms, based in Portsmouth, N.H., win the Northeast Division of the PDL's Eastern Conference with a record of 11-1-2. Despite playing in just 10 of the team's 14 matches, Grant scored exactly half of the Phantoms' goals, as the team outscored foes by a 28-7 margin. The Phantoms advanced to the semifinal round of the Eastern Conference playoffs before falling.
Grant played in all 19 of BGSU's matches last fall, making 15 starts. He finished second on the Falcons in goals, assists and points, with 11 total points on three goals and four helpers. Grant led the team with 66 total shots and 31 shots on goal, and tied for the BG lead with two game-winning goals. He was named to the All-MAC First Team and was a co-recipient of the MAC's Newcomer-of-the-Year Award in 2012, when he led the Falcons with eight goals and 20 points.
In his two years with the Falcons, Grant had 31 points in 39 matches, on 12 goals and seven assists. Seven of those 12 goals were game winners.
The PDL consists of 64 teams, with rosters consisting of collegiate, post-collegiate and international players looking to further their development during the summer months. For more information on the Phantoms and the PDL, click the links below.
