USGA Championships: U.S. Amateur Championship Scoring
Atlanta, Ga. – Jose Narro posted a second round 72, +1, on Tuesday at the second day of the 2014 U.S. Amateur Championship held at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Ga.
Narro, who posted a 73, +1, on Monday, carded a 72, +1, on Tuesday on the Highlands Course at the Atlanta Athletic Club.
With his two-round combined score of 145, +2, Narro finds himself in a playoff on Wednesday morning in order to make the cut. The Falcon golfer will be one of 17 players fighting for the last four spots into the next round.
"He had such a great comeback today after being 3 over thru the first six holes," commented BGSU head coach Kevin Farrell. "But he missed a few coming in at the end of the round and that's golf. He knows what he needs to work on. He is a great player and the development he's made from just last spring is incredible."
The rising sophomore overcame three bogeys over his first six holes to post back-to-back birdies on holes 8 & 9 to finish the front nine just one over at 36. He then started off the back nine par, par, birdie, par, birdie and par to move to one under through 14 holes of play.
However, he then carded two bogeys over the final three holes to give him his second round 72, +1, and place him in a tie for 61st-place overall.
Narro will tee-off at 8:22 a.m. tomorrow morning for the playoff round.
